Life changes often. My life is no exception. I finally bit the bullet and traded in my 2002 Ford Explorer 4×4 for a 2004 Mazda 3 Hatchback. In the past, I have driven SUVs (2 Explorers and a Blazer), so this is the first car I’ve ever owned. It’s also the first vehicle I’ve owned in just over 4 years that wasn’t built in Kentucky (the two Explorers), and my first ever that was built in Japan. I’m really digging the new 3… looks awesome and gets great gas mileage (300+ miles on a 14.5 gallon tank). For a car its got lots of space, though obviously not as much as in the Explorer The 3 really surprised me at the amount of stuff I can haul in the boot.

It’s got a 4 cylinder, 2.3L engine that pushes out 156Â bhp and 150 lb-ft of torque and has an automatic transmission with a manual mode that allows you to shift if you want. Inside, it has black and blue leather seats, a moon roof, and a 6 disc in dash CD changer, which, unfortunately, does not offer MP3 support. I have a feeling that I’ll be installing a new head unit soon but I’ll live with the 6 disc changer for now.
The job search is not going as well as I had hoped. I am expanding my view to include Louisville as well. I figure that there is a much better/bigger job market there than in either Richmond or Owensboro, and its a nice city to boot.
Speaking of Louisville, this Saturday is the Barenaked Ladies concert at Caesars Indiana – just outside of Louisville. I’m very excited and can’t wait to see BNL live!
I guess that’s it for now… back to building a server.
